Check out talented 13 year old musician, Harrison Ivaz, playing his original song, Dreamkeepers.    He played two days on the 2012 Kidzapalooza stage, and we shot his whole set at the VIR (very important rocker) Breakfast at The James Hotel on Sunday morning at a Pre-Kidzapalooza showcase.   Stay tuned for more clips to come.

Guests at the intimate Kidzapalooza pre-show at The James Hotel were in for a treat on the final Sunday of the mega fest.    The Verve Pipe broke out a brand new song off their upcoming release called When Grandma Says No.  It's a foot tappin' good tune with an all too true message.  We dig it and know you will, too.  They're aiming for a fall release for their follow up to their first kid catering collection, The Verve Pipe A Family Album.  This week we'll tell you how to enter here at ChiIL Mama to win a copy along with 4 other sweet, fam friendly CDs.   This is one of our all time favs!

It was our great pleasure to attend the VIR (very important rocker) Breakfast at The James Hotel for the 3rd year.  This 8:30am Sunday, pre-Kidzapalooza bash has become a sweet tradition.  VIR Breakfast is a free, intimate showcase with kindie bands from the Kidza lineup, and it always fills fast.

Local Chi-town, kindie musician, Laura Doherty led the lineup at The James and played the Kidza stage two days as well.   We'll have loads of her live show footage from Martyrs coming this fall, along with more sweet give aways.

Between August 10th & September 10th, we'll rock the end of summer and send you singing into the fall and back to school season with 16 free kindie (kids' indie) CDs!!

Lolla is officially SOLD OUT but they'll be streaming live shows if you slacked off and missed out on tickets.   If you DO have your tixs lined up, remember kids 10 and under are FREE with a paying adult!    Kidzapalooza is hands down THE best fest kids area we've ever been to.   And we get out a LOT.


We've been rockin' Lollapalooza since THE first one years ago in 1991, and we have press credentials again this year, to bring it all to you.  We can't bring a video camera in, but we have features on many Lolla performers from locations where we could shoot, earlier this year, and we'll be bringing you stills and commentary all 3 days of Lolla 2012.
