Beatles-related Good Ol’ Freda showcases the life of The Beatles longtime secretary Freda Kelly and her amazing stories about John, Paul, George and Ringo and the madness that surrounded them during the 1960s.

Good Ol’ Freda shows Wednesday, Oct. 1, 8 p.m. in City Winery’s performance venue projected onto dual 90-inch screens and heard on City Winery’s state-of-the-art Meyer Sound® system.

Freda Kelly was just a shy Liverpudlian teenager when she was asked to work for a local band hoping to make it big. Though she had no concept of how far they would go, Freda had faith in The Beatles from the beginning, and The Beatles had faith in her. History notes that The Beatles were together for 10 years, but Freda worked for them for 11. Many people came in and out of the band's circle as they grew to international stardom, but Freda remained a staple because of her unfaltering loyalty and dedication. As The Beatles' devoted secretary and friend, Freda was there as history unfolded; she was witness to the evolution – advances and setbacks, breakthroughs and challenges – of the greatest band in history. Themed drink specials may include green Apple-tinis in tribute to The Beatles’ record label.

All Ages Concert: Tributosaurus Becomes The Beatles 4/25 8pm

93 XRT presents Tributosaurus Becomes THE BEATLES, VOL 7: Abbey Road, and the accompanying singles. The full album will be performed in its entirety, with meticulous, faithful re-creations of the original arrangements. The show is this Friday, April 25th - there are still great seats available if you order quickly! The audacious Tributosaurus Beatles Project, to perform all of their recorded songs from chronological start to finish, is nearing The End.  On the heels of a triumphant performance of the White Album in its entirety, Tributosaurus attacks Abbey Road.  Re-creating the rock, blues, pop, and prog nuances, with all necessary instruments, will be thrillingly difficult.    The delicate brilliance of George Harrison’s “Something” and “Here Comes The Sun.”  The progressively bizarre fuzz of “She’s So Heavy.”  The iconic side 2 “Medley,” with 8 songs in 16 perfect minutes.  As always, Tributosaurus will somehow bring music built on studio wizardry to a live performance. The Tributosaurus Beatles Project, follows the United Kingdom releases in order.  The show on April 25th will start with the remaining tracks yet to be performed from the hodge-podge that was Yellow Submarine, including “All Together Now” and Hey Bulldog.”   You’ll also hear the singles released before Abbey Road, including “Lady Madonna,” “Revolution,” and “Hey Jude.”  The centerpiece of the night will be the 11th studio album, considered by many to be the Beatles’ best.  Ed Ward of Rolling Stone said Abbey Road featured a “sound that could not possibly exist outside a studio.” Well, we’ll see.  Come join us for Abbey Road on April 25th at the Copernicus Center. The Tributosaurus Beatles Project returns to the perfect place. The Copernicus Center Theater was the first movie palace in Chicago designed for talking pictures, and it has been restored to its’ original condition and outfitted for live performance. Here at ChiIL Live Shows/ ChiIL Mama, we dig Tributosaurus.   They rock!   These wacky musicians play out as different, excellent bands all the time....constantly morphing and changing.   They also do one of our favorite things...play kids show by day and adult shows by night!    Check 'em out.

Tributosaurus is trying something brand new-- streaming the show tonight on the web, for free, as a little experiment.  There's no substitute for seeing a live band in a live venue, but for those of you who cannot make it out tonight but would like to see a little of the show, you can use the links below.
