Foot stompin', bluegrass fun at a new Concerts for Kids day and time
This band of brothers has literally grown up together, born to play from their earliest days. Originally from several different musical families in Piedmont, North Carolina, the Farm Boys are now based in Chicago. As youngsters the Boys started playing with instruments they found around the house and at school. As teenagers they were messing with dirty rock n roll. Now the Farm Boys pay special attention to the bluegrass and folk roots of their native state and region.
Check out their distinctive, high-energy, raise-a-ruckus sound. Kodiak Farm Boys include Dave Henderson (mandolin), Sam Huff (guitar), Jesse Jordan (fiddle), Wesley Jordan (upright bass), Matthew Rubin (banjo), and Nathan Case-McDonald (percussion extraordinaire).

Get Up and Get Grooving to Mr. Singer's new release "Bouncing Ball of Energy"
We are so excited to host the CD Release Party for Mr. Singer & The Sharp Cookie's new CD, "Bouncing Ball of Energy". You can listen bits from a few of the new tunes on their website. Doesn't that leave you wanting to hear more? Well, come Sunday at noon. Kids will love bouncing along to these new tunes as well as old favorites.
Mr. Singer & the Sharp Cookies end the Spring 2012 Concerts for Kids series on a high note. Beat Kitchen's Concerts for Kids will take a break for the summer and come back with more in October. We'll also post information about street festivals throughout the summer with great kid's music and activities.

We'll bring in a bunch of fun dress up clothes and a standing, painted band foreground kids can pose behind. Parents can snap all the rockin' tot shots they want. BYO phone or camera.
June 23-24: Green Music Fest
July 7-8: Lincoln Park Art & Music Fest
July 15: Dearborn Garden Walk
July 21-22: Roscoe Village Burger Fest *Look for our tent in the kids' area and come ChiIL out with ChiIL Mama's Rock Tots Photo Spot/ Dress Up Area. August 3-5: Lollapalooza *ChiIL Mama always covers Kidzapalooza in a BIG way, with loads of give aways, live show footage, and band features, leading up to the big weekend. Of course, we'll be there all 3 days, too, shooting the shows, so check in with us this summer like we vote in Chi, IL...early and often!
