A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure. 

I'll be out for an advance screening this Saturday, March 25th, so check back soon for my full review. Both my son and daughter play D & D, so we're pretty excited to check out this new release, out in theatres everywhere on my birthday, March 31st.

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank is about a young dog, Hank (Michael Cera), down on his luck but with a head full of dreams. Hank is determined to make his dream come true by learning to become a Samurai. Lucky for him, a once great Samurai named Jimbo (Samuel L Jackson) is available to teach him as long as he can defend a village of cats with a No Dogs Allowed policy. Ika Chu (Ricky Gervais) wishes to destroy their village to expand his kingdom and secure his spot as the new Shogun. 

This is an animated comedy loosely based on Mel Brooks' 1974 film Blazing Saddles. Mel Brooks voices The Shogun. 

It is filled with cliches, references to other movies and breaking of the 4th wall moments which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. It is probably best for the 10 and under crowd. 

Lori is an unschooling Chicago mom who lives in LaGrange with her three kids. She is a 2nd degree black belt in TKD and a burlesque dancer, who teaches self defense.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” 

is the newest adventure in the Wizarding World™ created by J.K. Rowling.

Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

The film features an ensemble cast, including Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”), two-time Oscar nominee Jude Law (“Cold Mountain,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley”), Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, William Nadylam, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Victoria Yeates, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Fiona Glascott, Katherine Waterston, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Richard Coyle, Oliver Masucci, Valerie Pachner, and Mads Mikkelsen.

I've been a huge fan of Dune since I first read the trilogy in high school, and through many film and TV attempts to do the novels justice. I even named my dog Alia in the mid 90's, after the tiny but mighty psychic Dune character, born with some seriously intense powers. Here at ChiIL Mama, we're all beyond excited to catch the latest film and you can be sure we'll catch it in theatres on IMAX to maximize the experience.
