“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” 

is the newest adventure in the Wizarding World™ created by J.K. Rowling.

Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

The film features an ensemble cast, including Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”), two-time Oscar nominee Jude Law (“Cold Mountain,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley”), Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, William Nadylam, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Victoria Yeates, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Fiona Glascott, Katherine Waterston, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Richard Coyle, Oliver Masucci, Valerie Pachner, and Mads Mikkelsen.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” was directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling & Steve Kloves, based upon a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. The film was produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram and Tim Lewis. Neil Blair, Danny Cohen, Josh Berger, Courtenay Valenti and Michael Sharp served as executive producers.

The music is by nine-time Oscar nominee James Newton Howard (“News of the World,” “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” “Defiance,” “Michael Clayton,” “The Hunger Games” films).

Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Heyday Films Production, a David Yates film, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” in theaters internationally beginning 7 April 2022 and in North America on April 15, 2022. Growing Up with Nine Old Men – “Peter Pan” is both a story of living with a child’s sense of openness to the world and an acknowledgement that the path to adulthood most often leads away from those qualities. A parallel of sorts to that duality can be found in Walt Disney and his core group of animators, the Nine Old Men, in their lives and in their work. Our short film will look at who they were and the parts they played in one of the most remarkable team of artists that ever worked together.

I do have a biological little sister, who's great fun to hang out with. And some of my favorite, lifelong friends that I consider sisters, are women I met through performing in live theatre or TV productions. They can make me laugh harder than anyone I know, then blow me away with insight and support just when I need it the most. Two of these "sisters" even made me laugh during both of my marathon length natural childbirths, and that takes some supreme talent! Tina Fey and Amy Poehler also have a lot of history of acting together and bringing the laughs. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler may not be blood born sisters but they do have an unbreakable bond, as seen in their newest film Sisters! In honor of the film’s release on Blu-ray and DVD March 15th we celebrate the queen bees of comedy by re envisioning their most iconic collaborations on the big and small screen!

Saturday Night Live – 2001-2006

Saturday Night Live saw the beginning of the duo’s success by entertaining millions of viewers with their hilarious and captivating sketches. An era was born! From being the first two women to the Weekend Update to shedding a comical outlook on Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton, they have left a great impression making us laugh so hard we craved for more.

Mean Girls – 2004

Mean Girls was Fey’s first step in the Hollywood hall of fame as she showed off not only her screenwriting skills but also her teacher skills by playing the role of the “drug pushing” Ms. Norbury. Fey could not leave her BFF out and wrote a role for Poehler as Regina George’s not-regular-but-cool mom. Although the duo did not share any screen time, their ability to make an audience laugh was SO apparent we knew this wouldn’t be the last time we would see them together.

Baby Mama – 2008

In 2008, the dynamic duo returned to the big screen giving up their minor roles to star in Baby Mama: Fey as Kate “the successful businesswoman” and Poehler as Angie “the trailer trash surrogate.” Playing polar opposites didn’t stop these two in realizing they were more alike than they thought.

Golden Globes – 2013-2015

Fey and Poehler wowed us all when hosting the Golden Globes back in 2013. We

enjoyed watching them so much that the Hollywood Foreign Press invited them

back two more times!

Anchorman 2 “Epic Fight Scene” – 2013

These two couldn’t leave all the fighting to the boys as they made an appearance in one of the most outrageous fight scenes the big screen has seen in Anchorman 2. Arriving to the fight in a fire painted four-wheeler, they played entertainment reporters eager to join the carnage.

Sisters – 2015

Fey & Poehler reunite in Sisters as finally… SISTERS! These mismatched siblings

turn things up in their childhood home after discovering that their retired parents have sold the house. No better way to say goodbye to the past than throwing one last epic party.

Cool NEW Kickstarter on Our Radar: Swingy Fights Obesity With Fun

BALANCING CHILDREN'S FITNESS AND TECHNOLOGY TIME

Here at ChiIL Mama we're elated to introduce our readers to the Kickstarter for Swingy, a wooden balance board, video game hybrid for kids through adults! My kids both took gymnastics from the age of 18 months through childhood. And my daughter has been a competitive team gymnast from the age of 7, so we know the benefits of balance and exercise! Our family also loves video games and screen time. Enter, the new kid on the block... Swingy.

As a Montessori family, we love natural materials versus plastic. Swingy's beautiful Beechwood design is sure to last, and a tactile pleasure to exercise with.

One of the most alarming consequences of the explosive rise of modern technology and associated screen time is that children are rapidly becoming overweight and inactive.

Studies show that: 

• 3/4 of all kids have access to mobile devices at home and the time spent on these screens has TRIPLED from 2011 to 2013.
  
• 72 % of children age 8 and under have used a mobile device for some type of media activity such as playing games, watching videos, or using apps
  
• 38 % of all kids under the age of 2 have already used a mobile device. 

Consequently, there’s not a parent around who doesn’t feel slightly guilty about seeing their kids veg out on their smartphones or tablets. We know children love digital games and we would like them to know their way around the devices of the future, but we still want them to be active and play and... well... be kids. 

MEET SWINGY 

Children who spent at least 60 minutes in front of the screen were 39% more likely to become overweight and 86 % more likely to become obese. 

So instead of going against the grain, the developers of Swingy wanted to provide them with the gaming aspect that entertains them and add a physical feature that turns pointless gaming into a beneficial activity. 

Swingy is the world's first wireless balance board for playing games on tablets and smartphones. It is made of wood and designed for children aged 4 to 12, but strong enough to support adults as well! 

Swingy stimulates children to move while playing digital games, enhances their sense of balance, and improves their coordination. In short, Swingy helps children become active and agile. 

Active screen time 

The Swingy balance boards are equipped with sensors that wirelessly connect to a tablet or smartphone. Each balance board then controls one of the parameters on the screen. This means children are playing digital games with their legs. Swingy combines entertainment with a beneficial exercise important for your children’s balance and healthy posture fitness habits by integrating active time into playtime. 

Swing Pong 

The Swingy application is the tech upgrade of the Swingy balance boards. The boards are equipped with inertial sensors which connect with the application and enable the Swingy app user to play games with their feet. The first game is called Swing Pong. Each sensor controls one of the sliders on the screen. The goal of the game is to keep the ball in play by intercepting it with one of the sliders. Power-ups randomly appear on the screen in the shape of forest fruits and animals. Forest fruits give lives, increase the size of the ball or the sliders, or decrease the speed of the ball. The animals either shrink the ball or the sliders, or increase the speed of the ball. 

Balance. It matters. 

Child's play is an important source of physical activity and motor development, especially in the first years of life. And balance is the pillar beneath every motor skill we have. Children develop their vestibular system, also known as the balance system, up to the age of 15. This is why we cooperated with doctors, teachers, and exercise physiologists to develop Swingy. With its curved form and back and forth movement, Swingy strengthens the core muscles required for a healthy posture and improves balance and coordination. Improving balance helps children in everyday life as well as at sports such as rollerblading, biking, skating, climbing, and skiing.
