Shopping Center Hosts“Year of the Dragon” activities and exclusive offers February 10-25, 2024

Fashion Outlets of Chicago, located at 5220 Fashion Outlets Way in Rosemont, today announced the return of its Chinese Lunar New Year festivities and offerings. The celebration will kick off with a special event featuring free cultural performances and activities as well as exclusive celebratory shopping offers at participating retailers from Saturday, February 10 through Sunday, February 25.

Fashion Outlets of Chicago visitors are invited to ring in the Year of the Dragon with a Lunar New Year kickoff event in the shopping center’s Food Court beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 10. Guests can enjoy a variety of games and activities including lantern crafting, Chinese calligraphy, Chopstick Challenge and more. Special cultural performances presented by Huaxing Arts Group will also take place from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. that will feature Chinese dance, Kung Fu, Chinese yo-yo and a children’s choir.

Shoppers can also visit Concierge Services, located on Level One of the shopping center from February 10 to February 25 to receive a celebratory red envelope containing special Lunar New Year offers and services from participating retailers as well as a free Savings Pass that will provide up to $800 in store savings from Fashion Outlets’ retailers.

For Chicago visitors traveling through O’Hare Airport, Fashion Outlets of Chicago is a great destination to pass time during a layover. Fashion Outlets of Chicago’s Concierge Services offers special amenities that allow travelers to check coats, hold luggage and shopping bags and print boarding passes at the shopping center. International travelers can take advantage of foreign currency exchange and translation services.

Here at ChiIL Mama, we've been covering Santa HQ since it's inaugural year at FASHION OUTLETS OF CHICAGO and I'm happy to partner up with them once again on this sponsored post. Santa HQ: Interactive visit with Santa welcomes new features for the 2018 holiday season

In partnership with HGTV, Santa HQ invites families to experience the wonder of Santa's workshop in the digital and social media age through a truly innovative and interactive visit with Santa. Digital tools are utilized to elevate the shopper’s visit with Santa, offering an enhanced social media experience through augmented reality. New this year, visitors can use the workshop’s Magic Mirror to transform into one of Santa’s elves, virtually changing their elf’s outfits, receiving customized Elf ID collector cards and more. Additionally, special live visits from Santa HQ’s elves, Strawberry and Jack, will take place every Saturday through Dec. 8 from 1 to 4 p.m.

During their visit to Santa HQ, guests can take advantage of magical augmented reality using the Elf-Ray Vision app or provided tablet, allowing them to experience Santa’s Workshop and Elf Academy like never before. In addition, visitors can take an Elfie Selfie to star in their own holiday video, see where they stand on the Naughty or Nice O’Meter and enjoy a stunning holiday light show featuring over 10,000 individual bulbs dancing to “Carol of the Bells.”






Santa HQ will be open seven days a week through December 24. Operating hours are:

• Mondays through Thursdays: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Fridays and Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Sundays: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Special holiday hours include:
• Friday, November 23: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Saturday, November 24: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Sunday, November 25: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Sunday, December 16: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Monday, December 24: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Every Monday through December 17, Pet Nights will offer furry family members the opportunity to join the fun and take part in family photos with Santa from 6 to 8 p.m. Fashion Outlets of Chicago encourages shoppers participating in Pet Nights to park on P2 (second level) of the parking garage and enter the center by Helzberg Diamonds and Converse to easily access Santa HQ. For every shopper who purchases a Santa HQ photo package during Pet Nights, Fashion Outlets of Chicago will donate $10 to the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.



Santa HQ activities are free with the option to purchase a variety of photo packages and guests can make advance reservations at santa-hq.com. HGTV encourages visitors to Santa HQ to share the festive occasion with friends and family on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using #SantaHQ and #loveHGTV.

In the spirit of the holiday giving season, Fashion Outlets of Chicago is proud to again host its annual holiday drive at Santa HQ benefitting Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Visitors who donate a new, unwrapped toy valued at $5 or more between November 8 and December 19 will receive a complimentary general admission ticket to Brookfield Zoo, a $21.95 value, valid through December 31. For the extra generous, up to four general admission zoo tickets can be distributed per shopper.

Yes, I'll confess to an undying love of pop culture and band tees. On my last visit to Santa and FASHION OUTLETS OF CHICAGO, I dropped in at Hot Topic and kinda sheepishly told the sales staff I was a mom to two teenagers (truth) when they asked if they could help me find something. At checkout, with a sweet 13th Dr. Who tee, I fessed up that it was actually for me.

Look! I made the top of the "Nice List". 

After exploring Santa HQ and telling the big guy in the red suit what I wanted for Christmas, I went to Hot Topic, The Body Shop, and a close out sale at Aeropostale where I found a great deal on a bunch of awesome jeans for my teen daughter, 4 flannels, and loads of cozy polar bear and panda socks for stocking stuffers.
