Chicago's Little Miss Ann is a veteran instructor at the Old Town School of Folk Music. Ann Torralba, aka Little Miss Ann is a former CPS Special Education teacher. Ann and her husband, Patrick, her drummer, have created 3 well-received kids cds that are upbeat folk rock that families love to sing and dance along. Mr. Dave & the Space Cadets

Dave Hamiton’s musical roots were planted by his family in central Illinois. Even back then he was into capes. Many memories involved rocking out with his siblings. He fondly recalls being used as a puppet in home shows orchestrated by his sisters. Today they are still known to perform for a crowd. From a very young age, David shined in all things musical. Some of his merits include winning national awards in choreography & vocals during high school sporting a wicked mullet, Dave was the first to bring hip hop to the Castle Stage in Walt Disney World Orlando performing as a finalist on Ed McMahon's Star Search. Dave showed 'N Sync a few moves. At 20, Dave met his best friend “Gui-tar.” Together they have been performing & creating magical lyrics for the past 15 years. You never meet one without the other.   Check out Mr. Dave's main site here.

March Fourth (triple stilt walker partner acro!!) LIVE at Martyrs  Chicago 11-3-12 HD Video by ChiIL Live Shows

November 3rd, it was our great pleasure to check out Portland's Punk Circus Brass....March Fourth back in Chi-town again.   When their big bus pulls into town, a party's sure to break out!   This time was no exception.   Local boys, Whysowhite, got the crowd warmed up, and March Fourth took it to the next level.   Our favorite freaks got everyone shakin' their booties, screwing their lightbulbs, and having a raucous good time.

Check back with ChiIL Live Shows like we vote in Chi, IL...early and often.   We'll have loads more mind blowing March Fourth/Martyrs live show clips and a review of their latest album, Magnificent Beast!

Photo Filled Recap-Las Guitarras De España Live at Martyrs'-10-13-11

Las Guitarras De España with friends Mehran and El Payo-a nite of excellent, world class, Flamenco Fusion at Martyrs'.

Martyr's welcomed back Las Guitarras De España with friends Mehran and El Payo for a night of "world music"-infused Flamenco Rock on Thursday, Oct. 13 for a thoroughly enjoyable multicultural melding of a show.

El Payo is a popular Rumba/Nuevo Flamenco-Fusion group based in Chicago. Their distinct sound is infused with elements of rock, salsa, ska, reggae and, of course, some Flamenco.

Las Guitarras de España (The Guitars of Spain) is a "world music" ensemble, with a "Spanish guitar twist," that performs a fusion of Cuban son, rumba, R&B, Latin-jazz, blues, and African percussion with an underlying flamenco music and dance focus. “Tantas Cosas,” the fifth CD release by Las Guitarras de Espana, features compositions by longtime collaborator Patricia Ortega.

Mehran is an Iranian born Flamenco guitarist who resides in the US. He has been performing in the Chicago music scene on various levels and capacities since the late 80s.

All three ensembles have released critically acclaimed CDs in the last year and each group presented a unique take on the Spanish guitar genre. Jazz, Rock, Ska, Reggae, Blues, along with Indian and African elements, came together for a fantastic night of music.
Check out their websites for ordering information and upcoming shows.
