All Dressed Up...#CBNRENTRUNWAY Recap & Upcoming Winter Magic Trunk Show

Although our fashion favs tend toward black, and more black with silver accents, even punks gotta dress up sometimes.

Last night we went to a champagne and stiletto heavy blogger party at Maxine Salon on Rush Street.    Check out #CBNRENTRUNWAY to follow along on all the recaps.

I find it fascinating what people put on their feet, so I had a blast with the shoe shots.   I'm intrigued with where people connect to the earth--how they're grounded, and what shoe choices say about their wearer.  Most of my photography work centers on bands, and most of their feet are in Chucks, Vans, or some variation of boots.   This was not the case last night!    There may be podiatric surgery in your future, but tonight daahhhlink, you look fabulous.

Thanks to Rent the Runway (@rentrunway) and Maxine Salon (@maxinesalon) for hosting this fun event.    We'd never been to Maxine's and were uber impressed with the sweet space and our hostess's hospitality.   Maxine made it a point to get around and personally meet everyone.

The third floor is ideal for a private party.   Champagne and other drinks were flowing liberally, and waiters made the rounds with tasty hors d'oeuvres.   Loved the asparagus grilled cheese!

Diamond plate is a girl's best friend.   Loved the stairs!

Fab CBN models, @SADBblog, @CleverClipper, @andreakerbuski, @delvechicago, & the @thesassypeach, appeared both on Windy City Live and WGN’s morning news yesterday AND today.  You can check out the both segments on CBN.

We also left with some sweet swag bags thanks to Vosges (@vosges), Rent the Runway (@rentrunway), Freshii (@freshii), Pink Papaya (@PkPapayaParties), Kind (@KindSnacks), and Pop Chips (@popchips).

My favorite quote of the night came as I was leaving with a small group of bloggers.   The intern gamely went to retrieve my coat and came back pretty quickly, empty handed.  "Um...I know you had a black coat, but so did absolutely everybody else, so, if you want to take a look in there yourself, it might be faster," she smiled.    Despite the monochromatic coats, it was a colorful crowd and a fun event.    We'll be looking forward to the next one.
