Iconic lakefront destination to celebrate milestone with free cultural programming and star-studded concert, featuring nationally-acclaimed performers who will pay tribute to legendary jazz musicians

In a multicultural lineup fitting of our fabulous city, Navy Pier is celebrating it's 101st birthday with FREE performances from Native American, African and Asian drummers, Latin Jazz and more! Come check out Navy Pier's new look. We also highly recommend buying tickets to Chicago Shakespeare Theatre while you're enjoying Navy Pier. They're featuring their annual summer family friendly musical and Madagascar is a surefire way to get your littles loving theatre.

Navy Pier, Chicago’s mission-driven cultural district, is turning 101 this Saturday! To celebrate, the beloved iconic landmark is hosting a full day of free arts and cultural programming, highlighted by the star-studded evening concert, Lakefront Swing – a jazz centennial celebration of Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie and Lena Horne, featuring world-class performers Felicia Fields, E. Faye Butler, Victor Garcia and Fred Nelson III on the newly unveiled Polk Bros Park Performance Lawns. (600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, Ill. 60611)

The Pier also looks forward to welcoming other milestone birthday celebrants as it hosts its second Quinceañera Celebration, complete with free professional group photos for the participating young ladies and a live musical performance by Sones de Mexico. Quinceañera Celebration will be held at the Wave Wall, located on Navy Pier’s South Dock.

On Sunday, Navy Pier teams up with the Chicago Jazz Institute to present the Chicago Latin Jazz Festival. Performances include a Chicago Latin Jazz collaborative Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Sepulveda & the Turn Around.
