HELP OUT: Orphans of the Storm Gift Wrapping Fundraiser at Northbrook Court Mall Select Dates Through 12/24/18

ORPHANS OF THE STORM BRINGS THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT TO
NORTHBROOK COURT MALL WITH GIFTWRAPPING FUNDRAISER

Friendly Cats and Dogs On-Site for the Festivities, All Donations to Benefit the Shelter

Orphans of the Storm®, one of the most well-respected and largest animal shelters in Chicago, will be occupying a space in the Northbrook Court mall (1515 Lake Cook Rd.) to provide gift wrapping to holiday shopping crowds. Shoppers can get gifts for their loved ones wrapped in their choice of festive wrapping paper for cash donations, which will directly benefit the shelter. This is the 4th consecutive year that the shelter has been welcomed into the mall to spread holiday cheer and help their furry friends find homes.

Gift wrapping will be held Saturdays and Sundays on December 7-9 from 11 p.m. – 5 p.m., December 14-16 from 11 p.m. to 5 p.m. and December 17-24 from 11 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friendly cats and dogs that are in need of forever homes will be at the mall to accompany gift wrappers and greeting guests the weekends of the 7th and 14th. On those dates, all shoppers, with or without gifts, are encouraged to stop in to the shelter’s storefront to visit the furry gift-wrapping assistants and potentially find a home for them.

About Orphans of the Storm
Orphans of the Storm, a longstanding animal shelter in Chicago’s northern suburbs, takes responsibility and helps to find a home for every cat and dog that reaches its doors. A verdant country refuge, Orphans of the Storm has provided exceptional shelter, nutrition and medical care for orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected cats and dogs since 1928.  Over the course of the shelter’s 90-year history, well over 100,000 pets have found new homes as loving and beloved additions to families.

At any given time, visitors to Orphans of the Storm’s beautiful, woodland facility in Riverwoods can choose from up to 150 dogs and 300 cats -- healthy, affectionate and faithful animals who would be their companion for life.  At Orphans of the Storm, dogs enjoy 10 acres of land for daily exercise under the caring attention of our staff and a dedicated army of volunteers.  The shelter’s mission is that no dog or cat is ever without a loving home. We always strive to make the lives of our animals and our community better, one happy ending at a time. Come to Orphans of the Storm, where you will not just adopt a pet, but a “friend for life.”

Orphans of the Storm is located at 2200 Riverwoods Road in Riverwoods.  Animals may be adopted at any time; no appointment is necessary.
