ChiIL Mama's Adventures at Chicago's Full Moon Fire Jam

September's full moon was epic. Not only was it a full lunar eclipse, but it was a red blood moon for part of the evening and a super moon!

Here in Chicago we celebrated with the last monthly full moon fire jam of the season, a free fire spinning, drumming extravaganza.
Check out our full slide show HERE or by clicking this image:

I'm thrilled my 14yo son, Dugan, took my DSLR for at least half of the show and experimented with exposures and settings. It's a great scene to get creative in! Dugan's also the juggler with the LED balls. We had so much fun shooting the fire breathers and fire spinners and their whips, fans, hoops, blades, poi, and clubs!

We've embedded some of our favorite shots below. Enjoy! If you live near Chicago or want to visit on the nearest week night to a full moon spring through fall, we highly recommend checking out the Full Moon Fire Jam. Family friendly, no alcohol, leave no trace.
