Weekend Recap- HomeMade Pizza Streeterville Grand Opening

Sure, HomeMade Pizza Company sounds like an oxymoron, but tastes like a dream!    We were so excited to be invited to the opening of HomeMade Pizza's new Streeterville location.

They had samples, kids' activities, and even free, full sized pies for happy customers to take home and try late last week, through the grand opening Saturday.    One happy woman in the sizable line said to us, "This is turning out to be a GREAT day.   I didn't know this was goin' on and I was walking home from work and now I'm walkin' out with free dinner!"

We also try to reduce our carbon footprint and live as gently on the earth as we can, though it's a process.   So we were elated to find eco-friendly water bottles at HomeMade Pizza.    The Green Planet Water guy was a hoot, and gave the kids a demo by pouring hot water into the bottles, which makes them scrunch up and change shape.    This shows, quite visually, how these biodegradable water bottles are truly different than their plastic cousins.

I have the crazy kids who order cheese pizza then drag all the cheese off.   HomeMade pizza has us covered with a cheese free, extra sauce pie, right on the menu.    Customers can get pre baked pizzas or the more popular option where you custom order then bake it yourself for the freshest homemade taste.   They've taken vegetarian and even vegan diets to heart and made these pizzas a regular part of the menu and not a special order.

HomeMade Pizza is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.   Eric Fosse, founder and CEO, started HomeMade Pizza right here in Chicago and we're happy to see local entrepreneurs take a great idea and run with it.   It's such a relief to have tasty, quick dinner options, especially when convenience doesn't mean sacrificing great taste and fresh ingredients.   We loved that the pizza comes ready to cook on a parchment, that makes it easy to slide on the oven shelf and cool to slide out when it's done.

Check out their web site for more locations and info.   Ultimately the taste will tell.   This is pie you'd be proud to serve to the pickiest kids and adults.
