Adventures With The Guys At Raging Waves Waterpark

Blokes And Sheilas All Find Plenty of Fun at Raging Waves

My son and daughter are 13 & 15 now and still get along great, and generally we all do things as a family. This August, though, we all wanted to go to Raging Waves Waterpark again, but we couldn't make the logistics work out. Sound familiar?! Sometimes the mythical lazy days of summer are the crazy days of summer in reality.

I'm pleased to partner up with Raging Waves again this season as a Blog Ambassador. Thanks to them, we have comp tickets for some of our lucky readers and review tickets for my family. As always, all opinions are my own.

Both of my kids did circus arts camp. My son is currently a Jr. Counselor at a theatre camp for 2 weeks and he also did a week of nature camp in the Indiana Dunes. My daughter's had team gymnastics camp all summer, Girls Rock Camp, and overnight gymnastics camp in Wisconsin. Then we tried to throw friends in the mix and the schedule nightmare grew. Finally we decided the only way to make it work was to have a guys day and a girls day.

Here's ChiIL Mama's Aussie Themed Waterpark Adventures With The Boys, AKA: BLOKES in Australian

Smiles for miles

My son, Dugan & his childhood friend, Mateo, have been to Raging Waves together quite a few times over the years. They always bring back the Big Squirts for super squirt gun battles. But Mateo hadn't been there since they opened the new slide, Wonambi. It was a huge hit!

Best of all, the forecast said scattered thundershowers and all the local kids were back to school already, so lines were super short and the guys got maximum slide time in. We did have a torrential downpour with lightning in the early afternoon, but the park closed for under a half hour and it got gorgeous again.

Of course the teens were all about the slides and wave pool. I've ridden almost every slide in the park, too. As an adult, though, I was happy this time to stick to the wave pool and ChiIL out and read a book I've been trying to find time to check out for 6 years! Raging Waves has plenty of seating in the sun and shade.

This family run waterpark also has an artistic streak, with a family member that designs the charming paint jobs for the buildings. The snack shacks are colorful and fun and even the storage sheds have character!
