Don't Miss The Bliss!--Cloud 9 Has To Close September 6th

While you're down at Navy Pier gawking at the armada of immense sail boats, ChiIL Mama highly recommends checking out Cloud 9--Cirque Shanghai's excellent acrobatic extravaganza.   They must close September 6th, so catch 'em while you can!   Du-Jay and Sagezilla were mezmerized when we caught their act back in June, and we know you'll be dazzled, too.

Here are their added shows and final schedule for the summer:

Mere weeks remain to be amazed by “Cirque Shanghai: Cloud 9,” a world premiere event that has astonished and entertained Chicago audiences this summer.  Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as a “much-loved summer tradition,” Cirque Shanghai’s world premiere, and only U.S. engagement, of “Cloud 9” at the Navy Pier® Pepsi® Skyline Stage (600 E. Grand Ave.) must close Sep. 6 (Labor Day).

“Cirque Shanghai: Cloud 9”performs Wednesdays at 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Thursdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Fridays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

There will also be additional performances on Thursday, Aug. 26 and Friday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. in conjunction with the Pepsi® Tall Ships® Chicago 2010 celebration at Navy Pier, as well as Sunday, Sep. 5 at 8 p.m. and Monday, Sep. 6 (Labor Day) at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Daring spectacle, breathtaking artistry and the sheer joy of its dazzling young cast make “Cirque Shanghai: Cloud 9” a magnificent theatrical experience for audiences of all ages, with acrobats careening from sway poles suspended high above the stage, gravity-defying ladder balances, a unicyclist riding atop a spinning umbrella, the fun and skill of “hat juggling,” and featuring “Imperial Thunder,” China’s finest daredevil motorcycle troupe riding precariously in a steel globe center stage at Pepsi Skyline Stage.    

Under the creative direction of Sylvia Hase, directed by Miao Miao Chen and with choreography by Brenda Didier, “Cirque Shanghai: Cloud 9” is presented in this exclusive U.S. engagement by Navy Pier in conjunction with International Special Attractions, Ltd. (ISA) production headquarters in Shanghai, China.

Tickets are: $14.50 – $19.50 for adults and $12.50 – $14.50 for children ages 3 – 12. Gold Circle seating is priced for all performances at $29.50 for adults and children. Children 2 and under are welcome and admitted free of charge.
