ChiIL Mama's Top Local Tips for Getting Your Kids Ready to go Back To School

Woo hoo for the red white and blue.   Thank you tax man.

1.  Tax Holiday:  If you're in Illinois and out rounding up the supply list goodies, from August 6 until August 15, Illinois residents will be able to purchase back-to-school items and only pay local sales tax.    Legislation has been enacted to create an annual state sales tax holiday for clothing and school supplies.    Please click here for more detailed information regarding qualifying items: (http://www.revenue.state.il.us/Publications/Bulletins/2010/FY-2010-17.pdf )

2.  Check Out Free Check Ups:  Most schools require proof of doctor and dental visits.   If you're in the Chicago area, the following health fairs include free school supplies, free check ups, and dental exams to get kids ready for school.
