Weds. 1st  Doumbek Hour  7-8pm  FREE*  Quick, monthly group practice session for your doumbek enjoyment.  Focused on the Middle-Eastern goblet drum called Darbooka, also known as Doumbek or Egyptian Tabla.   All levels, ages 12+.   Next session: Sept 5th.     * donation welcome but not  required
Weds. 1, 8, 15, 22nd  DrumFace Kids Club: Art Studio!  3:45-4:45pm  $7 per week (minimum 3 weeks, pre-booking required)  DrumFace Summer Art Club will run 6 weeks, from July 18 to August 22, with a final party August 29th.  Projects include clay sculpting, drawing, painting, collage, printmaking.  Ages 6-11.  Contact Heather for details: info@DrumFaceChicago.com (773)772-4778.
Tues. 7, 14, 21st  Clay Play  6:30-8:30  ($20 per session, minimum 2; reservation required)  Experience recommended but not essential; basic tools and materials supplied.  Bring an idea for a project, build it in 1 or more sessions this month, and it will be ready for you to glaze next month.  Ages 14+  Contact Heather for full details.  (info@DrumFaceChicago.com)
Weds. 15th  Chicago Cavers  7-10pm  FREE*  A city-based, social convergence of cave explorers & people interested in caves.  Fun night of multimedia sharing, cave skills coaching and casual storytelling.  Hosted by Heather & Quentin of DrumFace, and the Windy City & Sub-Urban Grottos of the National Speleological Society.  Open to non-cavers; club affiliation not required.  Bring a beverage or snack, if you like.    *donation welcome but not  required
Tues. 28th  Drumming workshop with Rami El Aaser  7-8:30pm, $15  Work out your sounds and improve techniques on the Middle Eastern doumbek drum (also called Darbooka and Egyptian Tabla).  This session is appropriate for all levels.  Dancers and drummers alike will benefit from playing and listening.  Doumbeks will be provided by Drumface; feel free to bring your own.  Advanced players of Middle Eastern Percussion are welcome to schedule one-on-one immersion lessons with Rami during his stay.  Contact DrumFace for details or to RSVP: (773) 772-4778;info@DrumFaceChicago.com.  Also there is a FaceBook event for this workshop (www.facebook.com/events/404128709635202/ )

Weds. 29th  End-of-Summer Kids Club Party  3-4:30pm  FREE  Viewing of artworks produced during the 6 Art Club sessions held during July & August.  There will be an open, drop-in art activity, as well as light refreshments.  Participants from Kids Club will be able to take their work home from the show.  (otherwise, please make arrangements to pick up your child's work)  A sign-up sheet will be available for those interested in continuing Kids Club sessions during the school year.
Thurs. 30th  Aissawa Kbir Veggie Potluck  7/7:30-9:30pm  FREE*  Hosted by DrumFace and Chicago Aissawa.  On Last Thursdays of every month, DrumFace studio is open for a night of community and music.  Aside from delicious vegetarian potluck dinner and music by Chicago Aissawa, we are featuring “Aissawa Kbir” (pronounced ka-beer), which means “Big Aissawa”.  It’s a little bit of Morocco in Chicago, and we want you to play along!   *donation welcome but not required
