As holiday shoppers are running down Michigan Avenue to score holiday sales, Free The Children ambassadors and Maasai Warriors from Kenya, Wilson Meikuaya and Jackson Letasuna, will hit the Magnificent Mile to lead a fun run reminding local Chicagoans to give back this holiday season. And it’s easy to do! Local Chicago business Freshii has partnered with international charity and educational partner Free The Children to create a unique national promotion to help nourish and energize children and communities in the developing world.
ChiIL Mama will be there, and we'll have a photo filled feature and some sweet giveaways for you later today.
**In December, Freshii customers can purchase $5 limited edition reusable “green bowls” with proceeds going towards building school kitchens and vegetable gardens in Free The Children communities around the world.**
Freshii invited Wilson and Jackson from rural Kenya to visit Chicago for the first time, dressed in traditional red shukas with beaded jewelry, they will lead the run from Freshii locations throughout the city to symbolize health, wellness and nutrition and kick-off Freshii’s national promotion.
The run kicks off TODAY at 10:30 a.m. from the Freshii at 900 N. Michigan. It’s a fun, family friendly opp, and kids are welcome to take photos with the warriors. It’s free to participate.
